1 Posture fit/Lumbar support will be checked

2 Arm adjustments will be checked and wear and tear will be assessed

3 Hip pivot bolts will be checked

4 Height adjustment will be checked

5 Tension control will be checked to make sure it is working correctly

6 Base will be checked for paint damage

7 Pellicles will be checked for elasticity and damage

8 Forward and/or rear tilt will be checked

9 Sponge insert will be checked for wear

10 Gas lift cylinder will be checked for seal problems and correct control

11 Castors checked that the correct type is issued and for damage

Part of the service will include the seat. This will be removed and the mechanism case will be cleaned from dirt and dust. The mechanism will be greased and the chair will be re-assembled.

Revived Limited recommends that a chair should be serviced every 4 to 5 years. The standard service will provide basic lubrication and functionality checks. At the same time it will identify any defective components which can be supplied under warranty. The seat on a Herman Miller chair benefits from a 5 year manufacturer’s warranty, including normal wear and tear. All other components have a 12 year warranty apart from the gas lift which is 3 years. However, the gas lift is not an expensive part to replace. A standard service every 4 to 5 years should identify most parts which are eligible for replacement under warranty. After replacement the warranty will be reinstated on all new components.
